Common Ground Youth Farming connects young people (growers) with job opportunities on urban farms in Baltimore City. Up to 12 growers per session, ages 15-21, are hired to work at our partner farms “Tha Flower Factory” and Duncan Street Miracle Garden. Both sites are in the heart of East Baltimore in the Broadway East and Middle East communities. The program is founded on Restorative Practices, where young people learn relationship building and conflict resolution skills alongside gaining workforce development.

The CCC facilitates and trains in the facilitation of Community Dialogue Circles. Building space for community connections is often the forgotten half of the coin when addressing community conflict. Circles are often only held responsively in reaction to conflict. But, when a place for community building, such as community dialogue circles, exists proactively, community connections and structures are in place to make resolution of conflicts easier. The CCC has been providing space for, and training in the facilitation of, community dialogue circles in Baltimore schools and neighborhoods for over 15 years. Community dialogue circles are a designated place to build connections with each other and also to address concerns in a positive way. The CCC, if requested, makes available a neutral and removed third-party, who is highly trained and experienced, to facilitate community dialogue circles. This is done at a time and frequency in which the community desires. Please contact us to arrange.
